How does PrioEat work? ▼
PrioEat lets you pre-order your meal before arriving at a restaurant. Browse the menu, place your order, and pay the full bill (food plus PrioEat's platform fee) in-app via Paystack. Your food will be ready when you arrive — nothing is collected at the restaurant. No waiting in line, no fumbling with cash or cards on arrival, just great food on time.
How do I cancel my order? ▼
You can cancel a paid order in-app at any time before the restaurant accepts it (when the status changes from "Pending" to "Confirmed"). Open the order in your Order History and tap "Cancel Order". Once accepted, you can still request cancellation but the restaurant may refuse if ingredients are already in use. The full charged amount (food plus platform fee) is refunded as PrioEat Credit to your in-app Wallet, redeemable on a future order at the same restaurant. PrioEat Credit does not expire.
My payment went through but I did not receive a confirmation. What do I do? ▼
First, check your Order History in the app — the order should appear there within 2 minutes of payment. If it does not appear after 5 minutes, do not pay again. Email us at hello@prioeat.com with your Paystack payment reference (found in your bank app or SMS) and we will locate the transaction and confirm your order manually within 2 hours.
How do I get a refund? ▼
Cancellations (yours or the restaurant's) are issued automatically as PrioEat Credit to your in-app Wallet. Credit covers both the food subtotal and the platform fee you originally paid, never expires, and is redeemable at the same restaurant — or platform-wide if that restaurant is later suspended. PrioEat does not process cash refunds or reverse Paystack charges to your original card / bank / transfer source. If you believe your situation is exceptional (suspected fraud, duplicate charge, account-closure data-deletion request), email hello@prioeat.com with your order ID; resolutions remain credit-based.
Do I pay VAT separately? ▼
No. PrioEat does not charge VAT as a separate line item on your order. Menu prices set by each restaurant are inclusive of any applicable tax. Your Order Summary at checkout shows only two amounts: the food subtotal and PrioEat's platform fee (with any Member-tier discount). The amount Paystack bills your card matches exactly what the app displays.
What is PrioEat Credit? ▼
PrioEat Credit is a balance in your in-app Wallet (1 credit = ₦1) issued when a paid order is cancelled. It is redeemable at the same restaurant where the cancelled order was placed and never expires. If the restaurant is later suspended or removed from the platform, your credit automatically converts to platform-wide credit usable at any active restaurant. At checkout, available credit is applied automatically toward the food portion (and any remaining toward the platform fee); the Paystack popup charges only the cash difference. If credit covers the full bill, Paystack is bypassed entirely.
Is my payment information secure? ▼
Yes. PrioEat never stores your card number, CVV, or PIN. All payments are processed exclusively by Paystack Payments Limited, a CBN-licensed payment processor certified at PCI-DSS Level 1 — the highest level of payment security. PrioEat only stores the Paystack transaction reference number and your payment amount.
How do I delete my account? ▼
To request account deletion, email privacy@prioeat.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your PrioEat account. We will verify your identity and permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by Nigerian law (financial records are retained for 7 years under FIRS regulations). You will receive email confirmation once deletion is complete.
I am not receiving push notifications. How do I fix this? ▼
On iPhone: go to Settings → PrioEat → Notifications → enable "Allow Notifications" and ensure "Time Sensitive Notifications" is turned on. On Android: go to Settings → Apps → PrioEat → Notifications → enable all notification categories. If notifications are enabled but still not arriving, try signing out and back in to refresh your device token. Contact us if the issue persists.
Which cities is PrioEat available in? ▼
PrioEat is currently available in Abuja (FCT) and Lagos. We are expanding to Port Harcourt, Kano, and Ibadan — follow us on social media or check the app for updates on new cities as they launch.
How do I list my restaurant on PrioEat? ▼
Restaurant partnerships are reviewed and approved by our team. Email partners@prioeat.com with your restaurant name, location, and a brief description. Our onboarding team will reach out within 48 hours to walk you through the process, which includes creating your menu on the platform and setting up your Paystack subaccount for automatic payment settlement.
What is the platform fee? ▼
PrioEat charges a single platform fee on every order: a ₦1,000 base, plus 2.5% of the portion of the order value above ₦20,000, subject to a published floor and ceiling. Member-tier customers (Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum) get a percentage discount on this fee, applied automatically at checkout. The final fee — including any tier discount — is always shown before you confirm payment. Restaurant partners pay no commission to PrioEat — the platform is free for restaurants at launch.
